Protex Systems Ltd 'Clearshield'
Clearshield
is a colourless waterproofing compound that penetrates deep beneath
the surface with added dispensing agents giving better maximum depth
of penetration. The compound forms a silicone barrier in the capillary
channels and leaves no sign of discolouration which helps to keep
the surface clean. Clearshield
is not broken down by natural expansion and contraction caused by
severe weather conditions over the years and will remain flexible.

Some examples
of 'spalling' through neglect & freeze thaw cycles
How
Clearshield works
When
applied, Clearshield becomes
part of the surface filling the pores with a water-repellent substance
- this causes the water to 'bead' on to the surface, keeping your
walls from saturation.
Clearshield will not alter the
appearance of the brickwork or breathing ability of the surface.
Clearshield is not affected
by surface abrasion or erosion and lasts longer than other surface
treatments.
Benefits
of Application
Clearshield
insulates and prevents heat loss in a property. Heat loss through
brickwork is one and a half times greater when the brick is wet
than when it is dry; an average house soaks up about 3000 gallons
of water in the wet causing dampness and extra expense in heating.
Clearshield
aids in preventing efflorescence (the build up of a white deposit
on the surface of your walls); it also helps prevent frost attack
and stops the build up of discolouration from pollution in the atmosphere.
Clearshield
will put an end to costly repair work caused by water damage.
